Kma DLCC holds meeting on CRS

Kohima District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting on the Civil Registration System (CRS), covering births and deaths, was held on July 17 at the Office Chamber of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, DC and district chief registrar Kohima, Shanavas C suggested that the Economics & Statistics Department publish the details of births and deaths registrations in the local dailies. He also suggested organising awareness programmes to educate the public about timely registration, and encouraged close coordination among line departments for the system’s smooth functioning. Presenting a brief report on births and deaths under Kohima district,
FI, District Economics & Statistics Office Kohima, Chongti said that apart from births, reports on deaths were not being consistently provided to the department, leading to inaccuracies in data collection. Chongti requested the DC to issue a directive to all offices under Kohima district, urging them to submit death information to the concerned department. The meeting also discussed agendas related to the appointment of registrars and online registration.
