Sechü (Zubza) police station personnel while making routine rounds along NH-39 stretch found one 10 wheeler truck (MN-01/8949) abandoned between Peducha police check-gate and New Peducha bridge, Kohima on January 11 at around 11:45 p.m.
According to Kohima police PRO, the police personnel on close observation found the truck fully loaded with cement and both the driver and handyman could not be located at the site.
The police team while conducting further investigation recovered the following articles from the tool box of the truck (1) one round seal of directorate general Assam Rifles. (2) Official seal of commandant D.D.O (HQ) ‘B’ Range Assam Rifles. (3) One stamp pad. (4) One requisitioned certified copy issued by the Directorate General Assam Rifles. (5) A copy of gate pass of truck B/R No.MN-01/8949 certified by Directorate of General Assam Rifles, Shillong and (6) Incriminating demand slips of various underground groups of Manipur and Nagaland.
Accordingly the truck was towed to P.S and kept in the safe custody of police, PRO said.
On further enquiry, the driver of the said truck was located January 13 at around 3 p.m. and was accordingly taken into police custody for illegal possession of government seals and authority letter’s with signatures suspected to be a fake one. The truck driver has been identified as one Rafi Uddin (27), son of Fariz Uddin, Village – Yairipok, PO/PS – Yairipok, Dist – Imphal East, Manipur.
In connection with this, a regular case vide Sechü (Zubza) P.S Case No. 0003/15 U/S 467/472/473/474 IPC was registered against the driver and remanded into police custody for conducting further investigation, Kohima police PRO said.
