District Intelligence Branch (DIB) of DEF Kohima has intercepted two motorcycles suspected to be stolen from Zero Point Charali, Chakhabama, on January 23 between 2 –4 AM.
SDPO and PRO, Kohima, Atu Zumvu said the motorcycles were confiscated during surveillance duty after it was abandoned by two unknown persons suspected to Naga.
It stated that the two persons abandoned the motorcycle and fled below the Highway when they saw the police team on duty. Police recovered two haversack (airbags) containing packed rice and dry-meat curry, cosmetics, clothes and some medicines.
The two motorbikes were suspected to be a stolen one and the said articles were accordingly taken into the safe custody of police. One motorcycle (Bajaj Pulsar in Maroon colour) bearing Registration No. AR-01/4497 with Chassis No. MD2DHDZZTCD84801 and Engine No. DJGBTD19426 and the other (Yamaha Fazer in Sky blue and silver colour) bearing Registration No. AR-09/5853 with Chassis No. ME154BD35B2027146 and Engine No. 54B3027182 were recovered.
It has asked the registered owners to claim the bikes from Khuzama PS, Kohima, with relevant documents within six months time.
