Kohima police have seized two vehicles (tata sumos) with forged engine and chassis numbers at Old bye-pass check gate on March 24.
In this connection, two persons were apprehended on charged of plying vehicles with forged documents, said SDPO and PRO, Atu Zumvü.
PRO said that the seizure was made by the joint team of Anti vehicle theft squad (AVTS) along with DIB of DEF Kohima and A/10 NAP (IR) during routine checking.
In the first incident, PRO said, the team intercepted one vehicle (NL-07T-0159) and on thorough verification, found the engine and chassis number tempered. The arrested person was identified as Athisü Mao (23) and a regular case has been registered against him at Kohima North PS for further investigation, PRO said.
In another incident, the team intercepted a zonal taxi (NL-01T-7515) with fake tampered engine and chassis number, PRO said.
The driver of the vehicle identified as identified as Athirü Mao (29) was arrested. PRO said, a case has been registered against the arrested person at Kohima South PS for further investigation.
