KMC administrator informs general public

 KMC administrator Kovi Meyase has reminded the general public of Kohima town that the use of face mask and social distancing is mandatory and also spitting in public places is strictly prohibited. According to DIPR report, any individual found violating the norms will be penalized as mentioned: Spitting in public places will entail penalty of Rs.100 in first instance, Rs. 200 second instance (b); Not wearing face mask, Rs. 100 first instance, Rs.200 second instance; Failure to follow social distancing Rs. 100 first instance, Rs. 200 second instance. As per MHA guidelines, violations will be punishable under Disaster Management Act Section 51(b).

Wet markets and slaughter houses

Kovi Meyase also informed that there has been an instance of transmission of Coronavirus through wet market and slaughter houses especially those dealing with fresh meat, poultry and raw fishes in other parts of the world. Henceforth, with a view to contain possible transmission and spread of the virus through such market, he directed all the wet markets and slaughter houses within the jurisdiction of KMC to collect all the waste or fluid in a proper designated place and sanitise the same. They have also been asked to operate as per the FSSAI guidelines. Any traders violating the norms or guidelines will be penalized as mentioned: Rs. 500 first instance; Rs. 1000  second instance; Cancellation of Trade License.
