KMC clarifies on June 3 theft; lauds police

DIMAPUR, JUN 23 (NPN)

Reacting to the recent statement issued by the All Kohima Municipal Ward Council (AKMWC), the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has expressed appreciation for the concern shown by the council but strongly refuted any insinuation that the recent June 3, 2035 theft at the KMC office was “stage-managed”.
KMC in a press release said that it had no prior knowledge or involvement in the incident, and welcomed thorough investigation into the matter.
KMC stated that the prompt action by Kohima Police in apprehending the accused reflects their dedication to upholding justice. It expressed hope that future engagements would be based on facts and carried out in a spirit of cooperation.
KMC conveyed its heartfelt appreciation to Kohima Police for prompt and effective action in apprehending the individual involved in the theft.
Highly commending the dedication and hard work of the officers involved, particularly superintendent of police (SP) Teisovise Metha, additional SP and Special Investigation Team (SIT) leader K Soriso, and all members of the SIT, the council said the swift investigation and successful operation showcased their exceptional professionalism, coordination, and commitment to justice.
According to KMC, this remarkable effort not only safeguarded the public but also strengthened the community’s trust in the integrity and capability of the law enforcement agencies. The council said their actions set a strong example of accountability and service to the public.
Applauding the Kohima Police for its outstanding work, KMC reaffirmed its commitment to collaborative efforts for the safety and well-being of the community.
