KMC enhances household sanitation fee

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed that the council has enhanced household sanitation fee from Rs. 70 to Rs.100 per month with effect from July 1, 2022.
In a press release, KMC administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer said that the decision was taken after much deliberation and taking into consideration the rising cost of employing manpower, vehicles as well as road maintenance and as per the meeting held on May 2, 2022. KMC had asked all ward sanitation committees to ensure and strictly enforce waste segregation practice at primary/household level. The council has also requested that the 10% from the total collection of sanitation fee be regularly paid to KMC office to be deposited to the escrow account as per resolution passed in 2013.
