KMC holds meeting to control stray dogs

In view of the growing concern on stray dogs in town, a joint meeting of all ward, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and concerned citizens was held in the conference hall of KMC on August 28.
In a release KMC administrator Kovi Meyase said certain “common initiatives” was decided to be taken under consideration that would be framed and notified shortly by the office.
The administrator said the joint meeting has resolved that no ward/colony or individual would resort to shooting or killing of stray dogs in the town without the prior approval of authority concerned, i.e. the deputy commissioner Kohima. 
It said defaulters would be punished/penalized as per provision of the law.
