In view of the forthcoming Republic day Kohima Municipal Council administrator Kovi Meyase has directed all the 19 wards, shopkeepers, institutions, establishments, agencies and public within Kohima municipal jurisdiction to clean and paint or white wash the front side of their buildings and shops in order to facelift the capital city of Nagaland on or before January 20.
Meyase further directed all shops and business establishments to hoist national flag on top of their shops and building in honor of the Republic Day on January 26, 6:00 a.m.
Directing the 19 wards under KMC on inter ward tug-of-war competition on Republic day celebration, KMC administrator informed the wards to arrange 20 participants each with 5 reserves for the event and submit their lists in KMC office on or before January 21.
It was informed that the tournament would be conducted in the afternoon and some of the rules and regulation are: each team will have 20 players with 5 reserves. Matches will be played in knock-out format where each Team will get only one chance. First and second round matches will be played before the evening program at Secretariat Plaza while the matches after the quarter-finals will be played during the main evening function. All the teams or participants should report 2 hours ahead of the evening program for preliminary matches.
