Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has reiterated its directive to all business establishments and shops within its jurisdiction to install fire extinguishers, following non-compliance observed despite earlier office letters dated March 29 and July 21.
In a press release, KMC Chief Executive Officer Zapuno Sophie stated that fire extinguishers could be acquired at nominal charges from the KMC Office during working hours, considering the difficulty and shortage faced by some establishments.
KMC has set a one-month deadline for compliance from the date of issue and emphasized that immediate adherence to the directive is crucial for the safety and welfare of the community.
