KMC notifies on opening of shops

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator Kovi Meyase has notified that following number of shops shall be allowed to open against each wards listed below.

According to DIPR report, the shops will be subject to: Strict adherence to all precautionary measures as mentioned in the SOP on use of masks, hand sanitisers, gloves and social distancing protocols; Strict adherence to directives of the ward authorities on the timings for opening & closure of shops; Strict adherence to rates of essential commodities as notified by KMC. The grocery shops to be  opened wardwise are: Ward 1, 6 shops; Ward 2, 7 shops; Ward 3, 9 shops; Ward 4, 3 shops; Ward 5, 3 shops; Ward 6, 3 shops; Ward 7, 3 shops; Ward 8, 3 shops; Ward 9, 9 shops; Ward 10, 6 shops; Ward 11, 10 shops; Ward 12, 3 shops; Ward 13, 3 shops; Ward 14, 6 shops; Ward 15, 13 shops; Ward 16, 11 shops; Ward 17, 13 shops; Ward 18, 3 shops; Ward 19, 15 shops.  

These grocery shops have been listed after due consultations with the ward authorities keeping in mind the need for facilitating the public while also being mindful of the health protocols during the lockdown period. It is therefore reiterated that no other shops shall be allowed to open till further orders except those listed. 

Grocery shops whose stocks need replenishments will inform their respective ward authorities for further needful action by KMC for which purpose, the chief inspector, KMC may be contacted at 94360-01900. For the rural areas, area administrative officers may also contact the above official from the KMC for arrangement of any such requirements.

Enough and sufficient stocks are available and that special movement permits are being issued to wholesalers for transportation of additional essential commodities into the district. Citizens are therefore advised not to panic.
