Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all ward Panchayats to assist KMC in the shop census drive in their respective wards and submit their respective ward data to the KMC administrator by January 31, 2019 without fail. KMC administrator Kovi Meyase, in a release stated that, this initiative was in line with the Kohima Smart City Project under institutional strengthening for IT enabled better service delivery and accountability, under which KMC is planning to introduce a full fledged online trade licenses registration system. KMC is therefore, also offering the ward Panchayats a 10 percent incentive from the total amount collected from their respective ward shops, according to the census they submit to KMC office, during the year 2019-20.
