
Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and National Sector Scheme (NSS) unit of Pfutsero Government College (PGC) organised cleanliness drives with an aim to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
KMC: Under the initiative of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) in collaboration with Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB), all 19 wards under KMC jurisdiction has been organising various activities such as social works, awareness drives and seminars on “clean air” under the directives of National Clean Air Program (NCAP).
NSS PGC: NSS unit of Pfutsero Government College conducted a cleanliness drive with the support of ADC, Pfutsero and the college authority on April 22. College staff along with over 100 students joined the social work which covered the main town area, Zhipa, Menyitsuda, Reku, PWD, Tese, seed farm colony and its vicinity. NSS programme officer Nuveta Khusoh expressed gratitude to the unit for the social service and the administration and community for the support. He shared that such type of social service should be carried out occasionally as it would greatly benefit the community and would instil community hygiene and cleanliness. The cleanliness drive was supported by Swachh Bharat Mission.
