KMC reiterates on ban of SUP items

In continuation of directives issued through an office order on September 19, 2019 and notice of September 30, 2020, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has reiterated that the ban of Single Use Plastic (SUP) items was still in force.
In a notification, KMC administrator T. Lanusenla Longkumer informed that the use and sale of such banned items was liable to be penalised under Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. All concerned have been, therefore, requested to adhere to the directive.
