DIMAPUR: The management of the public graveyard at A.G. Colony, Ward 15, Kohima, has officially been handed over to Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) following a meeting held at the office chamber of the deputy commissioner, Kohima, on May 4.
According to DIPR report, the meeting, chaired by deputy commissioner B. Henok Buchem, was attended by representatives from KMC, A.G. Colony Council, family members of Sazo Kiso and the district revenue administration. According to the minutes, the decision to transfer management to KMC was taken in public interest and for the convenience of residents of A.G. Colony and Ward 15.
Subsequently, a formal handing over note was signed between KMC and Sazo Kiso at the KMC office, Kohima, on May 13. The agreement stated that KMC would henceforth manage all activities related to the public graveyard at A.G. Colony.
The handing note was signed by KMC chief executive officer Alemyapang Longchar, and Sazo Kiso in the presence of witnesses from both sides.
The agreement also acknowledged the services rendered by Sazo Kiso in managing the property over the years and stated that KMC would initiate necessary formalities as per Land Revenue Department regulations and assume management with immediate effect.
