KMC warns unauthorised optical shops

DIMAPUR: Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has warned that some persons running optical shops under KMC jurisdiction were providing eye care service without possession of prerequisite qualification, resulting in giving wrong prescriptions to unsuspecting patients.
In a notice, KMC administrator T. Lanusenla Longkumer informed such shop owners running optical shops that only qualified professionals could provide eye care service to the public.
The administrator informed those who do not have required qualification could only sell sunglasses and spectacle frames with proper trade license.
Further, KMC informed that physical spot verification would be carried out and action would be initiated against those failing to comply with the notification.
