Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam (KMH) has welcomed the suspension of IAS officer Reny Wilfred following “criminal investigation” into several allegations of sexual harassment.
In a press release, KMH president K. Chongkoi claimed that the offence of exploiting the dignity of women and children could be dated back to his days as deputy commissioner (DC) Noklak in 2021 when he committed the crime against two minor girls. KMH said action against the erring officer should have been taken long back. However, KMH welcomed the present action and expressed gratitude to state government. KMH also lauded the Nagaland State Commission for Women and Naga Mothers’ Association for standing tall for the oppressed and silenced women advocating justice and fair play in the society.
Meanwhile, KMH has appealed to the judiciary for timely delivery of justice to all the victims in the fairest manner and set an upright example for all to come.
KMH affirmed to stand for the welfare of the women anywhere anytime.
