The 3rd Kohima Aor Pensioner Telungjem (KAPT) was held at KABA Lerie Fellowship Tenla Ki, Kohima on July 25, chaired by KAPT president, Dr. Watijungshi Jamir.
A DIPR report informed that the programme began with a remembrance of departed pensioners led by joint secretary, N. Wati Atsongchanger, followed by a moment of silence and prayer.
A special health session was delivered by CIHSR Dimapur Dietician, Imsutula Jamir, on “How to Eat Well as You Age.” She stressed the importance of balanced nutrition, adequate hydration, and daily physical activity for healthy aging. She also shared practical advice on diet and lifestyle habits to support elderly well-being.
NBCC general secretary, Rev. Prof. Mar Pongen, spoke on spiritual aging and the purpose of life post-retirement. Describing pensioners as the “wisdom bearers” of society, he encouraged them to remain rooted in faith and serve as voices of unity and strength.
The programme included a Q&A session and the handing over of responsibilities among office bearers. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Temsu Jamir, vice president.
It was announced that KAPT currently has 639 registered pensioners.
