Kohima Bible College confers degrees to 52 graduates

DIMAPUR: Kohima Bible College (KBC) conferred degrees to 52 graduates at its 52nd graduation day held at the NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima, with Rev. Dr. Zotuo Kiewhuo, principal of KBC and founder & senior pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church, as the graduation speaker. The graduates comprised 22 Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and 30 Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) recipients.
In his address, Rev. Dr. Kiewhuo underscored the importance of discipleship, citing the example of Jesus Christ in raising disciples to build the Kingdom of God. He spoke of three kingdoms — political, demonic and divine — and stressed that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to build the Kingdom of God. Quoting Luke 17:21, “The kingdom of God is within you,” he urged believers to focus on evangelism and service.
He noted that KBC is the first Bible College in Kohima and the first charismatic Bible College in Northeast India, with graduates serving across all seven continents in fulfilment of the biblical mandate to preach the Gospel “to the ends of the earth.” Highlighting the college motto “Saved to Serve,” he exhorted graduates to remain committed to winning souls for Christ, uphold sound doctrine and resist liberal theology. He recalled the 1977 Pfutsero declaration of 10,000 volunteers, mentioning that its 50th anniversary will be observed in 2027.
Rev. Dr. Kiewhuo also spoke on citizenship and spirituality, stating that earthly citizenships are of little value without salvation and heavenly citizenship. He emphasised the role of the Holy Spirit in empowering Christians to build God’s kingdom and urged believers to pray continually, citing 1 Samuel 12:23-24. He encouraged graduates to remain focused on Christ, willing to suffer for the Gospel, and uphold the principles of preaching, healing and deliverance.
A speech on behalf of the graduating class was delivered by Khamkai Arolim (B.Th.). The programme was led by A. Athew, Assistant Professor, with degrees awarded by Rev. Dr. Kiewhuo and awards presented by Abei-ü Neihulie, president of KBC.
In the academic category, Visinu Thokhwe received David Nann’s Award for proficiency in the M.Div. programme, in addition to securing the KBC president’s Award for Old Testament, the principal’s Award for New Testament and Leona Nann’s Award for Systematic Theology.
