DIMAPUR: In a step towards enhancing teacher education and academic collaboration in Nagaland, Kohima College, Kohima and State College of Teacher Education (SCTE), Kohima signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) on May 13.
The agreement seeks to promote joint academic and professional development activities within a multidisciplinary framework, in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and UGC guidelines. It focuses on the introduction of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), offering a joint B.A. B.Ed. (Secondary) degree alongside existing B.A. and B.Ed. courses.
The MoC also provides for sharing academic infrastructure, instructional facilities and human resources to facilitate curriculum planning, research initiatives, seminars, workshops and training programmes. Both institutions agreed to share governance practices and academic resources, including library materials and research publications, while contributing to broader social development.
The agreement was signed by SCTE principal Dr. Elizabeth Walling and Kohima College principal Dr. Vitsosie Vupru.
The collaboration marked a progressive move towards improving the quality and reach of teacher education in the state through institutional partnership and shared academic vision.
