The Photography Club Kohima celebrated its 5th anniversary on August 19, coinciding with World Photography Day, at Khonoma village.
Speaking on the occasion as the resource person, freelance photographer and filmmaker Pelevizo Meyase shared his experience in wildlife and landscape photography. He also highlighted his contribution to the clouded leopard population survey in Nagaland in collaboration with Dr. Giri, an independent researcher.
Lt. Col. Amit Shukla, PRO and spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence for Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, remarked that Naga youth have tremendous potential, particularly in the hospitality sector, and encouraged the younger generation to explore opportunities in other fields as well.
A total of 18 members took part in the celebration, which included a guided village tour and visits to paddy fields while capturing scenic spots through their lenses.
During the programme, Velukho Nakro was inducted as the new president of the Photography Club Kohima, taking over from Suchamayang Kichu for the upcoming tenure.
Meanwhile, the Photography Club Dimapur (PCD), along with the Peren District Photography Club, celebrated World Photography Day at Hi Peren. Members of PCD also inaugurated and laid the foundation for the establishment of the Peren District Photography Club.
The formal programme was followed by an entertainment session and picnic at the Hi Peren campsite.
