
National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) observed anti malaria month in the month of June across Kohima district under the theme, “Zero malaria starts with me”.
A press release by NVBDCP stated that the NVBDCP under the ministry of Health & Family Welfare Department observe anti-malaria every year in the month of June across the country.
The release said the day was observed prior to the onset of monsoon and transmission season with the objective to enhance the level of awareness and encourage community participation.
As a part of observation of anti malaria month, sensitisation programme was carried out at 15 villages under Kohima, Jakhama, Sechu Zubza, Chiephobozou, Tseminyu and Chunlika blocks. District vector borne officer (DVBO) Dr Aseno Rhetso and district consultant Emisenla Imchen said various activities were taken up to highlight the public on malaria.
