Kohima-Jessami road: JAC sets deadline for contractor

DIMAPUR, OCT 14 (NPN): Joint Action Committee (JAC) on the Kohima-Jessami road (NH-29) has set October 30, 2026, as the deadline for M/s Ratna Infrastructure Project Ltd. to mobilise the required machinery and materials to the project site, warning of appropriate action if the company failed to honour its assurance.
The decision was taken at a joint meeting held at the Red Cross Building in Kohima on October 14, attended by stakeholders, including representatives of Chakhesang frontal organisations, the Pochury, Sangtam and Angami communities, and a village representative from Kezoma.
In a press release, JAC convenor Vivolie Kezo said the meeting expressed strong resentment over continued negligence by Ratna Infrastructure Project Ltd. and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) in addressing the grievances of affected people.
JAC said the October 30 deadline was based on a written assurance given by the project manager of Ratna Infrastructure Project Ltd.
