Kohima, Oriental College hold parting socials

Kohima College and Oriental College Kohima held their parting socials on April 11, bidding farewell to outgoing students with exhortations and reflections.
At Kohima College, the 59th parting social for 6th semester students was held under the theme “The masterpiece in progress.” Delivering the exhortation speech, Associate Professor and HoD (Economics), Lily Angami, urged students to move forward with purpose, rise above mediocrity and contribute meaningfully to society. Certificates were presented to outgoing students and council members for the academic year 2025–26.
Keynote speaker, Er. Y. Lipongse Thongtsar, Additional Director of Industries & Commerce, emphasized cultivating a progressive mindset, perseverance and dedication. He encouraged students to explore opportunities beyond government jobs, including entrepreneurship and skill-based careers. Outgoing senior, Vantsumong R, shared reflections from his work “The Bloom That Weeps,” while juniors expressed gratitude to seniors for their guidance. Invocation was proposed by Rachel and welcome address by Yashika Achumi.
Meanwhile, Oriental College Kohima celebrated its 29th parting social. Vice Principal (Administration), Chibeni Murry, exhorted students to devote themselves to God and cherish college memories. A special prayer for outgoing students was pronounced by CRC Kohima Village senior pastor, Lhouvizhii Sachii, while Kehoukhrienuo Metsieo of BA 2nd semester presented a song. The programme was chaired by OCKSU general secretary, Lika Sangtam, welcome address was delivered by Dean of Students’ Welfare, Chubanenla Imchen, and vote of thanks by vice principal (Academics), Dr. Kevizakielie Suokhrie.
