DIMAPUR: Acting on reliable source information received on June 18 at around 10 hrs regarding the movement of suspected self-styled underground faction members from Dimapur towards Kohima, Kohima Police swiftly activated its Special Operations Team (SOT) and launched a search operation. The operation culminated in the successful apprehension of three individuals from the New Secretariat area under the jurisdiction of North Police Station.
According to PRO Kohima Police, the arrested persons have been identified as Senlo Khing (56), self-styled president of NNC/FGN (NA); Kitoho H. Zhimomi (38), self-styled kilo kilonser of NNC/FGN (NA); and Tovito Kiba (29), self-styled finance kilonser of NNC/FGN (NA). During the operation, police seized two country-made pistols (.32 calibre with two magazines and eleven live rounds, and .22 calibre with one magazine and five live rounds), a Mahindra Scorpio bearing registration number AS-26-3373, cash amounting to Rs. 48,500, four mobile phones and other incriminating documents.
A case has been registered at North Police Station in connection with the seizure of illegal arms and other materials. Police stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive, network and possible involvement of other associates. Kohima Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety, urging citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information on unlawful activities.
