Kohima police arrest 6

Police manning Khuzama check post Wednesday arrested two persons traveling in a Mahindra Marshall (MN-02/6587) proceeding towards Kohima from Manipur and seized a large quantity of assorted ammunitions.
SP Kohima in a press release said the seized ammunitions include M16 (1000 rounds), AK-47 (20 rounds), Chinese hand grenades (5 nos.), N.I.T explosives (11 nos.) and detonators (3 nos.)
The arrested duo has been identified as Tiokhodem Haokip (49), driver of the truck, from Mhongel village, Churachanpur district and Asat Haolai (38) from Sikul village, Ukhrul, Manipur.
Earlier in the morning, police also arrested four highway robbers near Kigwema and Jakhama villages along NH-39 and recovered Rs. 5000 from the robbers.
Two of the accused have been identified as Nziulung Sema (26), son of Akhuto Sema of Tenning village under Peren district and presently residing at High School Colony, Kohima; Sanjit Demari Kachari (25), son of Binod Singh Kachari of Tezpur, Assam, and presently residing at TCP Gate, Kohima. Police said Binod Singh is also driver of Local Taxi No. NL-01/T-6149. The other two accused are Aleng Zeliang (19), son of Raikhabu of Samzuiram village, Peren and John Chetri (29), son of Kumar from Senapati district, Manipur.
