Acting on information about some underground cadres extorting people at Kohima town, a combined team of DIB of DEF Kohima and plain clothed personnel from North PS on June 13 carried out special operation at main town Kohima and arrested one NSCN–U cadre identified as ‘ss sergeant major’ Ase-u Kense (26) s/o Pfusiesa Kense, of Touphema, Kohima near Phoolbari Traffic Point.
In a press note, SDPO and PRO, Kohima Police, informed that six demand slips of NSCN/GPRN – K and one mobile phone were recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a criminal case has been registered against the arrested cadre at North P.S and remanded into police custody for conducting joint interrogation and further investigation.
In a similar incident on the same day, personnel of North PS arrested one cadre identified as tatar NSCN-R and ‘finance in-charge’ Kohima, P.A Yamlau, s/o Peyau, Monyakshu Village, presently residing at Sepfuzou colony, Kohima and recovered Rs. 1920, 30 NSCN-R information slip, two cash receipts of NSCN-R, a special ID Card (Sl. No. 57) issued by the supervisor of Cease Fire Supervisory Board NSCN – R, and one mobile phone were recovered from his possession.
Kohima Police stated that the cadre was apprehended by public at Fancy Market area, Near Old NST, Kohima for serving tax slip to shops.
In this connection, a criminal case has been registered against him at North PS and remanded into police custody for conducting joint interrogation and further investigation.
