Kohima police has released its illegal liquor seizure reports with cases from September to November. Kohima police seized approximately 452 cases of IMFL worth Rs. 9,42,000.
According to PRO Kohima Police, on November 15, Kohima Police personnel, while conducting MVCP below old KMC dumping area NH 29 intercepted one Tata Mobile (NL 07A7756) vehicle carrying assorted IMFL. The vehicle and the consignment totaling 180 cases of different brands were seized.
The arrested driver was identified as Ajibun Rahim (20), son of Abdul Rahim, Daboka village under, Daboka police station, Nagaon district Assam, presently residing at Chumoukedima second gate.
On September 13, a joint exercise was conducted between Kohima Police personnel along with 10 NAP (IR), and while conducting MVCP on NH 29, they recovered at total of seven cases of various brands of IMFL from a truck (NL 01A5753) and arrested two persons in this connection.
The arrested accused persons were identified as Shiv Kumar Singh, son of Babu Kamal Singh, Majahar village, Motihari district Bihar, presently residing at Kezieke colony Kohima; and Bhutan Sahani, son of Bhainath Sahani, Chitorah village, Motihari district Bihar, presently residing at Kezieke Colony, Kohima.
Also Police personnel manning the Peducha check gate during routine checking October 9 at around 9: 30 a.m. intercepted a truck (NL 01K 3181) and recovered 200 cases of Kingfisher Beer which were concealed beneath cement bags. In this connection, one occupant of the truck identified as Arjun Thapa (25) son of Karna Bahadur Thapa, Jorthobi village under Khatkhati police station, Karbi Anglong, Assam, was arrested.
On October 30, Kohima Police personnel manning Peducha check gate while conducting routine checking of vehicles, intercepted one Maruti Alto (WB 26C 6817) at around 1 p.m. and recovered a total of 16 cases of various brands of IMFL.
In this connection, one person identified as Alumba (21), son of Pithrongse, Chongchose village, Kiphire district Kiphire, presently residing at Upper AG colony Kohima was arrested.
Kohima police personnel during raids at shops in and around Jail Colony, Kohima on November 9 recovered a total of 49 cases of various brands of IMFL and also arrested ten persons for possession and sale of illicit liquor.
