Kohima Police recover motorcycle of Andhra YouTuber; 2 arrested

Kohima police with assistance from Peren police recovered a stolen motorcycle (Royal Enfield Himalayan 450) and arrested two people in connection with the theft.
According to Kohima police PRO, the incident came to light after a bike rider and YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh identified as one Katabathina Sudheer Kumar lodged a written FIR was with the north police station on April 17, 2026.
In the FIR, the complainant reported that his motorcycle, bearing registration number AP40CS4895, had been stolen from outside his homestay in Midlane Colony, Kohima.
Acting on the complaint, a team from Kohima north police station, led by SDPO (north), launched an extensive search and investigation.
The investigating team traced the stolen vehicle to the New Jalukie area in Peren district.
In a joint operation with Peren police led by SDPO Jalukie, the motorcycle was recovered on April 27, 2026.
In connection with the case, PRO said the prime accused, identified as one Ilungchube, along with the alleged receiver of the stolen motorcycle, identified as one Amos Pame, were arrested.
PRO said that further investigation was underway to determine the full extent of their involvement and any possible network.
PRO stressed that operation highlighted the importance of coordination between district police forces.
PRO said the swift exchange of information between Kohima police and Peren police, along with the supervision of SDPO Jalukie and the investigative efforts of the north police station team, led to the recovery of the vehicle within 10 days of the complaint.
Police said such inter-district collaboration not only expedited justice but also sent a strong message that jurisdictional boundaries would not hinder effective policing.
Further, PRO said recovery reaffirmed the commitment of Kohima police to the safety and security of visitors to the state. Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. Police also reassured citizens and tourists of their continued dedication to maintaining law and order and ensuring a safe environment.
