Acting on a tip off regarding transportation of illegal consignment, personnel of District Intelligence Branch (DIB), DEF conducted checking of vehicles proceeding towards Kohima on May 21.
According to SDPO & PRO Kohima, Atu Zumvu in a press release stated that during the routine frisking, police intercepted a Mahindra Scorpio B/R NL-07C-4913 and recovered eight jute sack bags of ginseng weighing 600 kgs approximately. The police stated that the accused tried to deceive the police personnel by producing invalid clearance of various check gate documents issued by the department of Environment & Forest, Arunachal Pradesh.
One person namely K. Kuba, village- Lairouching, PO/PS-Mao district, Senapati was apprehended and a regular case vide Kohima Sechu (Zubza) was slapped against him In this connection.
