Kohima traffic regulation on August 15

In view of the 70th Independence Day Celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on August 15, 2016, the Kohima police have informed that it would enforce traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement.
In a press release, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kohima, stated that only vehicles with appropriate car passes would be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza.
It has been informed that no vehicle would be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6am onwards on that day at the following routes: from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; From Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island and From Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point.
Heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway during the Independence Day Programme, except government departmental buses.
Further, heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the programme was over. Heavy vehicles would also not be allowed to be parked along the “D” Block road.
Police have informed that all loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6am. While seeking cooperation from the public, the police have warned that defaulting vehicles would be towed away and the charges would be borne by the vehicle owners.
