Kohima traffic regulations for I-Day

In view of the 75th Independence Day celebration at secretariat plaza, Kohima on August 15, District execution Force (DEF) Kohima has enforced traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement. 

In a press release, DEF PRO informed that only vehicles with car pass ‘A’ (red) and car pass ‘B’ (blue) would be allowed entry to the secretariat plaza.

Vehicles with car pass ‘C’ (green) will drop their respective officers at the main gate and parked outside the secretariat complex.

PRO has informed that vehicles without car passes would not be allowed to enter the secretariat complex and would be parked along the assembly secretariat road.

Meanwhile, no vehicle including two-wheeler would be allowed to park by the roadside from 6 a.m. onwards on August 15 at the following routes till the programme has ended: new CM official residence, Phezoucha to new secretariat complex; from BSNL telephone exchange till classic island; from Raj Bhavan till classic island; from classic island till new secretariat complex via Razhü point, high school junction; heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the programme has ended; all loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 a.m. 

PRO further said that the police would tow away defaulting vehicles and the charges would be borne by the vehicle owners.
