Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm (KBBB), comprising 121 churches and 22 fellowships, has unanimously resolved to uphold the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989, in both letter and spirit.
The resolution was adopted at the conclusion of the Pastors’ Conference held from April 18 to 20, 2026 at Lower Tiru under the theme “The Amazing Love of God.” The conference reaffirmed that even if the Act is lifted or relaxed elsewhere, KBBB will continue to adhere to the commitment made by its pioneers in 1988, viewing it as a binding moral and spiritual responsibility.
Earlier, at the Sunday devotional service, ministry licences were conferred upon five candidates—Liya, Manya, Khamba, Nahphong and Pulei. Four worship services were conducted with messages delivered by Rev. Thrangmo, Rev. Dr. A.M. Poangba, Rev. M. Tonlong and Manya. Paper presentations were also made by Rev. L. Metjen on Christian Stewardship and Toantao on Members’ Care Ministry.
On the final day, pastors engaged in a meaningful discussion on “Church Towards Social Issues.” The resolution underscored the collective will of the Konyak community, noting that apex civil bodies including the Konyak Union, Konyak Students’ Union and Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong are in full agreement with this historic decision.
