AFSPA extension an act to dehumanise Nagas, says NH: Naga Hoho (NH) has asserted that extension of AFSPA in the midst of the people protesting against the inhuman act of the Indian security forces was “nothing but an act to dehumanise the Naga people.”
In a press release, NH president HK Zhimomi expressed dismay at the attitude of the government of India for ignoring the voice of the Naga people as a whole.
NH said extension of AFSPA was a direct challenge and a message from the Government of India to keep on crushing the inalienable rights of the Nagas.
The hoho said that if India was truly a democratic country, then the voice of the people should have been heard.
However, on the contrary, NH said the dignity and rights of the Naga people was neither respected nor considered as fellow human beings.
NH further maintained that even after slaughtering Naga brothers on December 4 and 5, 2021 in Mon, the government of India continues to ignore the pain and cry of the Naga people.
Meanwhile, the Naga Hoho has called upon every Naga across borders to “stand in united voice and be prepared for any eventuality in the days to come.”
The hoho said that identity of Nagas and their lives cannot be compromised in the hands of the Indian security forces, but stand up for their God given rights. “We will decide our destiny but not by the Government of India,” NH underlined.
