The Konyak Lao-ong mo culminated with Talent harvest night on September 28 at local ground Mon with parliamentary secy Art & Culture, E. Eshak Konyak as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering the chief guest said “God has given talent to each and every individual but it is the hard work and sincerity of an individual that can make cent percent achievement.”
He advised the artistes not to take pride in their talent but to continuously work hard to reach their goal and achieve more in life for the society, for the state, for the nation and for themselves.
Konyak also reminded them on the dangers of drugs and other form of intoxications. While maintaining that sports, painting or singing alone were not talent but even farming was a talent, the chief guest urged the gathering to take such talents seriously and work hard towards improvement. He also encouraged the farmers to continue farming and at the same time impart the art of cultivation to the new generation.
Dignitaries like parliamentary secretary, Y M Yolow, patron of the feast, presidents of all the apex bodies, administrative heads and invitees attended the harvest night. Local popular music band, singers, dancers and artistes like The Toxic Peace Band, Wanyen Bezo, Sunday and the Black Skippers, Wangyat Wangshu and the band, The Royal hip boys, David Konyak, Manching Konyak, The Eastern project, Eastern Gospel Brass Band and many more participated in the harvest night, entertaining the crowds with popular Nagamese songs, konyak songs and English songs.
The crowds were also entertained with some comedy based on true incidents that happened at Mon by Lenwang and company.
