Konyak Union attends Joymoti Memorial Day in Assam

Konyak Union (KU) attended the Jayanti Memorial Day commemorating the life and sacrifice of the valiant Ahom woman, Joymoti on March 28 at. The programme was organized by the All Tai Ahom Students’ Union at Sonari Town Auditorium, Charaideo district, Assam, where KU president K. Yamao Konyak participated as the chief guest.
Speaking at the occasion, Yamao highlighted the age-old relationship between the Ahoms and the Konyak Nagas, marked by close interaction, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. He appealed to the younger generation to act as custodians of this shared heritage and torchbearers of the future. He emphasized that the legacy of friendship and peaceful coexistence between the Ahom and Konyak peoples must be preserved and carried forward with pride. The Union further urged that the spirit of unity should extend beyond commemorations and be reflected in social, political and economic spheres of life.
