Parliamentary secretary, Planning & Evaluation, Neiba Kronu, who was recently given the charge to oversee the department of taxes has appealed to the citizens to take pride in paying tax to the government, so that more public services could be taken up.
According to DIPR report, parliamentary secretary said this during the first meeting with the officials and staffs of the department on January 16, in the office of Commissioner of Taxes, Dimapur.
He also encouraged the department to revamp the structure, so that collection of tax would be more streamlined and effective.
Commissioner of Taxes Asangba Chuba Ao(IAS) highlighted on the new modules of taxes including CST, e-payment, e-revenue, e-registration, revenue collection etc and informed that Nagaland is the first state in the North East to make e-registration. OSD (G)V. Kezo also spoke on the occasion. Additional commissioner taxes, Mhathung Murry highlighted on the achievements of the department.
