Minister of Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse on Monday said Chakhesang women have been excelling in various fields especially in competitive exams and education, which she added was made possible due to their hardwork and dedication.
Kruser was speaking at the 11th general conference of Chokri Area Mothers’ Association (CAMA), held at Khulazu Bawe Local Ground, under Phek district. She pointed out that women from the community had been producing remarkable finished products in weaving and also farming produces.
The minister also emphasised on the need for the mothers work towards the welfare of the society. She observed that organisations such as CAMA and others were formed to work for the rights of women, to bring peace in the society and also work for justice in the society which were all aimed at the overall welfare of the society.
Kruse therefore reminded everyone to thank the pioneers for their efforts in setting up organisations thinking about the welfare of the people and to collectively work for the future.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by president, CAMA, Choyivelü Medeo, opening prayer was said by pastor, KBBC, Reduyi Medeo. Welcome speech was delivered VCC, K Bawe, Khusahü Medeo while greetings was extended by president, CMA, Zhonelü Tünyi.
A special number was presented by Vedulü & Vengolü Medeo and benediction by pastor, CRCK Bawe, Chüzhoveyi Chüzho.
A traditional song competition was held with 10 mothers’ groups from the member villages with Nesapralü (Kikrüma), Zhokhohülü Theyo (Thenyizü) and Velüsülü (Phusachodu) as the panel of judges.
Later, the second session was held with executive director, CWWS, Nezelü Nyekha, as the speaker on the topic, “Role of women in society today”, while the programme chaired by Swüyekulü Chüzho. In the folk song competition following villages emerged as winners: First-Thenyizu Village, second-Rihuba, third-North Kikruma and fourth-Phusachodu.
