
New office building of Kohima Smart City Development (KSCD) Limited and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) was inaugurated at New Super Market Complex, Kohima on Monday.
Kohima village council chairman Neiphi Kire inaugurated the new office building, while dedicatory prayer was given by Union Baptist Church Kohima pastor Rev. Dr. Rachulie Vihienuo.
In his address, special guest Kire said Kohima has expanded over the years where different tribes from all walks of life have come to live. While welcoming everyone, he said it was their wish that everyone live in peace and harmony as they go about in their daily activities.
He expressed gratefulness to Smart City under the leadership of Kovi Meyase and assured that the Kohima village will give their best cooperation to make smart city a success.
KMC administrator and KSCDL, CEO Kovi Meyase said that this was the first project under the Kohima smart city and completed before one month ahead of the actual date.
He appreciated Ura Academy for renting out their complex when the KMC was razed down by fire on February 2, 2017, and also the Municipal Affairs department for portion of the new Supermarket Complex to build their office.
KSCDL GM projects Er. Theruovituo Pienyü giving a brief report said the project was approved during the 13th board of directors on September 28, 2018 to be taken up under upgrading central commercial area as per the smart city proposal.
After necessary approvals was obtained, the work order was issued to M/S Golden traders on Dec 14, 2018 with a completion time of one year.
