Kutsapo Students Union (KSU) in view of their golden jubilee celebration-cum-70th general session of Chakhesang Students Union (CSU) scheduled in January 2018, at Kutsapo village, undertook the initiative of bringing home the mortal remains of late Sonetso Esan from Darjeeling.
A press release by KSU president, Dr. Nutazo Lohe, assistant professor Phek Government College stated that it was the long awaited wish to bring the mortal remains of late Sonetso who had died in 1969 and was buried at Bhanu Gram protestant cemetery, Darjeeling. Late Sonetso, son of late Kuhuso Vadeo was the first matriculate and designated student union president from Kutsapa village and was a pre-university Arts student of St. Joseph College Darjeeling when he passed away.
The release stated that grave exhumation project for further preservation of late Sonetso was carried out by the KSU led by its president. It also paid due tribute and homage to the achievements and contributions of late Sonetso as a visionary leader and pioneer in the field of education.
In a touching and grand manner, the mortal remains of late Sonetso after 48 years was finally put to rest in his own native village Kutsapo on December 17 with all necessary post exhumation memorial rites.
