KSU demands probe into student’s death

DIMAPUR, JUN 5 (NPN)

Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) has demanded investigation to the death of Pesha Khiamniungan, a class 11 student and a resident of Model Village, Chümoukedima.
It may be recalled that the body of 19-year-old Pesha T, who had gone missing from Dimapur on May 24, was found by the Assam Police on May 26.
KSU media cell informed that as per preliminary inquiry, the deceased had been to Dhansiri river with his friend on May 24 and gone missing the following day. KSU said the circumstances surrounding his demise posed serious questions. It therefore, demanded time-bound, transparent and swift investigation into the incident.
Further, KSU appealed the public to cooperate with the investigating authorities to unravel the truth behind his death. KSU expressed appreciation of all including SDRF and police authorities of Diphu and Diphupar for helping retrieve the dead body. Meanwhile, while mourning the tragic and untimely death of Pesha, KSU affirmed solidarity with the bereaved family members in their hour of grief.
