KSU on priority for districts with COVID-19 patients

Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) in a representation to the chief minister of Nagaland has condemned the “hasty and callous action and attitude shown by the authorities” in the case of the returnees belonging to Tuensang district and asked for intervention in rectifying the action with appropriate urgent action.

A press release from KSU vice president Talamong and information and publicity secretary Shingnya requested all individuals who have been stranded in different parts of the country and those returnees quarantined in Tuensang, Kohima and Dimapur to comply with all norms and procedures during the quarantine period and the authorities also to follow the standard operating procedures accordingly. Violation of norms and procedures by the individuals or the authorities shall be given appropriate action as per the law deem fit for all safety and wellbeing. It also beseeched all individuals/families and especially the quarantined persons to adhere to SOPs within or outside the state. 

KSU further appealed the state government to provide all necessary safety equipments to all the frontline warriors in the state, with priority towards districts having COVID-19 positive cases and also provide all instruments required for testing of virus in all districts at the earliest. While appreciating all frontline health workers, the union appealed them to be very cautious and perform their duties with utmost sincerity without any prejudice to the quarantined individuals.

Union further appealed the general public to extend full co-operation to all the directives issued by the state government and to maintain unity amongst the Nagas leaving aside all differences along tribal lines

The organization further requested to all individuals/groups to abstain from posting hate/negative comments in social media but rather supplement with positive suggestion to fight this pandemic.
