DIMAPUR, OCT 23 (NPN): Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) on Friday launched the first phase of its agitation by closing down the office of the Executive Engineer (EE), Roads and Bridges (R&B), Noklak, over the department’s failure to address its concerns.
KSU through its media cell said the department had failed to provide a satisfactory response within the stipulated timeframe despite the union submitting a formal request for clarification and subsequently serving an ultimatum. Expressing serious concern over the department’s continued silence, KSU said it was compelled to initiate the agitation to draw attention to the matter and demand accountability.
The union reiterated that the issues raised must be addressed with due seriousness and urgency.
KSU cautioned that the department would be held responsible for any untoward incident or undesirable situation arising during the agitation as a result of its continued failure to respond to the union’s demands.
