Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) has resolved to stand with the August 26, 2022 ENPO Resolution for separate statehood “Frontier Nagaland”.
In a press release, KTC president M Thangou and executive chairman Pakhiu Khiam informed that the resolution was adopted at a joint consultative meeting with frontal organisations and village council at Noklak headquarters on September 22, 2022.
KTC decided that people of Khiamniungan would not participate in any election process of the state and central until and unless a separate statehood, “Frontier Nagaland” was fulfilled.
Further, the house resolved to ban any election-related campaign by any political parties, candidature declaration programme by any individual(s), group or party under Khiamniungan jurisdiction.
The meeting also declared its full support to the decision of ENSF to organize a mass public Walkathon on October 7, 2022 to press for the “Frontier Nagaland” statehood demand.
Meanwhile, KTC has informed all the villages under its jurisdiction to organize village level joint meeting, in one-week time, of the village council, public organization, student organization, political party workers and indenting candidate/s, if any, to enforce the decision of ENPO.
USLP: While endorsing and supporting Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) August 26, 2022 resolution, United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP) said it would abstain from participation in any election process of the state or central until demand for separate statehood for Frontier Nagaland was fulfilled.
In a press release, USLP president, T. Seopi Sangtam and general secretary, P. Achumse Sangtam said USLP fully endorse and support ENPO stand in totality.
As resolved by ENPO, USLP has banned all political parties to refrain and desist from any election related campaign/activities and candidate declaration program in any form within its jurisdiction.
