KTODU condemns firing on truck drivers

Kohima Truck Owners and Drivers Union (KTODU) has vehemently condemned the firing on two innocent truck drivers at Jharnapani area on September 19, 2021.

In a press release, KTODU president Ruvese and secretary Kevithe said the act itself portrayed the insecure situation faced by drivers in and around the state.
KTODU said that truck drivers faced a host of problems and life-threatening incidents on many occasions while in the service of the general public however, till date no step had been taken to mitigate the situation nor protect the life of drivers.
The union warned if these anti-social activities carry on unabated in the highways, it would resort to protests which would, in turn, immensely affect normal activities.
It also cautioned that it would launch agitation in the form of economic blockade if the concerned authorities fail to take action or arrest the culprit(s).
Kohima Truck Owners and Drivers Union, has, further appealed to the law enforcing agencies and administration to investigate the case and arrest the culprit(s) at the earliest.
