Konyak Union (KU) has appealed to all NPGs to restrain and desist from violent encounters among them and also with security forces “ in the interest of peace and tranquillity in the district”. KU joint secretary L.Shahkai stated that this was resolved at the executive council-cum-general meeting held on May 28-29 at the council hall, Mon town. The meeting had deliberated on the prevailing law and order situation in the district and also appealed to all to strictly adhere to the cease fire ground rules and to restrain movement with arms and ammunition in public places. KU also especially appealed on the government of India to ensure strict implementation of CF agreement “in letter and spirit”.
