A joint inspection of Foot Hill Road construction from Tizit to Naginimora in Mon district was conducted on Saturday, with officials from the Konyak Union (KU), R&B PWD Mon division, contractors, and KU Tizit unit participating.
Following the inspection, KU president (Tizit Unit) Wangdun Wangsahum appealed to all groups, both underground and overground, to refrain from making any demands, taxation, or collection that could hinder the progress of the project. He emphasized that the Foothill Road is a vital infrastructure project crucial for regional development, transportation efficiency, and economic growth.
He also issued a strict warning to contractors, stating that the KU will monitor the project routinely and any deviation from the Detailed Project Report (DPR) will lead to blacklisting of those responsible.
Meanwhile, a prayer program was held during the inspection at Tekun village, attended by local leaders, Anghs, villagers, and council members. A coordination meeting followed, where key concerns were discussed to ensure smooth construction as per the DPR. The villagers and council members assured full cooperation for the timely completion of the long-cherished project.
