The Konyak Union (KU) held a courtesy and coordination meeting with representatives of non-Konyak communities residing in Mon district on August 22 at KU Hall, Mon town, reaffirming its commitment to safeguard their welfare and promote unity.
Addressing the gathering, KU president K. Yamao Konyak welcomed the participants for their positive response and active involvement.
He acknowledged the enduring presence of non-Konyak communities in the district despite prevailing challenges, and urged them to freely share grievances so that the Union may extend necessary support.
He also called upon communities unable to attend the meeting to inform the KU office through their respective unions, and appealed to all groups to actively participate in events organised by KU, Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK), Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), and the district administration to foster mutual understanding and harmony.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Tenyimia Union Mon, Lotha Hoho Mon, Sangtam Community Mon, Muslim Community Mon, Sumi Union Mon, Yimkhiung Union Mon, Mon District Gorkha Welfare Society, Hindu Community Mon, and Phom Union Mon.
