Kuda VC reacts to YT report on FPS

Kuda Village Council (KVC) has expressed dismay that a local YouTube channel in its video on November 30, 2022 had cast aspersion on Fair Price Shop (FPS) of Kuda village and “maligning” the village council
Taking note of this, KVC chairman Vikie Nagi and treasurer Pelevitso Khate said the council held an emergency meeting on December 1, and after comprehensive deliberation and inquiry, the council concluded that Kuda FPS had neither threatened the said channel nor charged anything beyond prescribed rates from any beneficiary nor deprived any beneficiary of their entitlement, nor acted in any manner beyond the Council parameters.
KVC, however, observed that Kuda FPS had judiciously and meticulously served all beneficiaries equally and without any prejudice from past many years till date.
KVC said it leant that the channel reporters “barged in at the ongoing FPS distribution in its office premises without any prior information and audaciously interfered in its official functioning”.
While acknowledging the fact that media has its prerogative to collect information, KVC claimed that they (reporters) randomly interviewed various beneficiaries standing in line for which the council officials on duty advised them to respect the sanctity of the office.
Appreciating the “budding video journalism” in the state for its sterling service in dissemination of information, KVC appeal to the channel to exercise proper decorum in reporting.
Meanwhile, the council demanded the said reporters to specify which council officials had threatened them. KVC warned of initiating legal recourse of action if it failed to do so.
