DIMAPUR: Konyak Union Kohima (KUK) and Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) Kohima have strongly condemned the brutal and inhumane assault on a 9-year-old child, who was working as a domestic helper.
In a press release, presidents of KUK and KNSK, said that the accused, is serving as an LDA cum Computer Operator under the 10 IR Battalion, Zhadima, and currently attached to the Police Engineering Project, PHQ. They expressed regret over the incident and claimed that it was a serious violation of Child Rights under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015, and Article 21 of the Constitution of India. They emphasized that every child deserves love, care, and protection, especially at such a young and vulnerable stage of life.
The release further stated, “Such an evil mentality has no place in society and must be dealt with strictly as per the law.” KUK and KNSK therefore urged all responsible individuals and organizations to condemn th heinous crime and appealed to law enforcement agencies to take strict action to ensure that justice is served for the minor victim.
